The board of directors of the RV/MH Heritage Foundation has announced the names of those who will be inducted into the RV/MH Hall of Fame as members of the Class of 2021. SDMHA Vice President Al Spencer will be inducted on August 16, 2021, at the Northern Indiana Event Center in Elkhart, Indiana. Al has 35-plus years of accomplishments in the MH industry, including MH community involvement, pioneering direct-to-consumer factory sales lots, expansion / management of national MH dealerships and more. Alan has decade’s long involvement in MH associations; with service on industry leading national action committees.
Each year SDMHA presents awards to manufacturers for the most homes shipped into the state for the previous year. This year's first place award for most homes shipped by a single factory went to Friendship Homes. Pictured is SDMHA Board President, Chad Evans (middle), presenting Mark McMahan and Kathy Lindemann of Friendship Homes their award. Second place went to CMH Champion and third place went to Highland Champion. The award for most homes shipped - multi factory went to Cavco - Friendship, Fairmont.
The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Moving Forward Act, a $1.5 trillion plan to rebuild America’s infrastructure, which included two key manufactured housing provisions – the establishment of a program at HUD to fund the preservation of manufactured home communities and expansion and extension of the 45L Energy Efficient Home Tax Credit. The Senate version is likely going to look dramatically different but MHI, our national watchdog, continues to work with both chambers to support the inclusion of these two provisions in any infrastructure bill.
